StarFive Unveils Full-Stack BMC Solution at Intel Connection, Accelerating Mass Adoption of RISC-V Data Center Management Chips
Chongqing, November 19-21 – The Intel Connection was grandly held, bringing together numerous industry leaders and technical decision-makers. The conference focused on cutting-edge fields such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and edge computing, exploring the trends and opportunities for the digital economy to drive the "New Quality Productive Forces."
As a steadfast promoter of RISC-V architecture innovation and application, StarFive debuted its Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) solution in Intel’s "Data Center Infrastructure" exhibition area. The company was also invited to speak at the "Hardware Infrastructure and Ecosystem" forum. Yu Hao, Solution Director at StarFive, delivered a presentation titled "Adapting RISC-V Architecture BMC Chips to BHS/OKS Platforms." He shared details on the hardware and software solutions for StarFive's JH-B100 BMC chip and its mature ecosystem compatibility.



On Site Intel Connection
The JH-B100 is StarFive's newly launched high-performance BMC chip based on the RISC-V architecture. It features a self-developed high-performance RISC-V core and a coherent Network-on-Chip (NoC), supports DDR4/5 compatibility, integrates Platform Firmware Resilience (PFR) functionality, and is equipped with support for Chinese cryptographic algorithms SM2/3/4.
As a BMC chip fully supporting dual-node server design, the JH-B100 integrates key interfaces including dual-lane PCIe 4.0 Endpoint (EP), eSPI (Slave), and Platform Environment Control Interface (PECI). Additionally, the chip’s two built-in Linear Tunneled Protocol Interface (LTPI) controllers significantly expand I/O interface options, simplify design complexity, and reduce overall system costs.
In his speech, Yu Hao emphasized, "The key technical adaptations for the JH-B100 are fully ready. This includes completing Intel CPU management function verification on the CRB platform and successful adaptation to AMI OneTree™. For customer solution integration, StarFive provides full-stack hardware and software technical support. We assist customers in rapidly porting OpenBMC through our SDK and meta-starfive layer, and offer comprehensive resources including Evaluation Boards (EVB) and design reference documentation."
Adhering to the principle of "Customer First, Localized Service," StarFive concurrently hosted a dedicated "BMC Product Demo Session" during the conference. The company's core R&D and expert teams engaged in in-depth, face-to-face discussions with customers to understand their pain points. Live demonstrations of the full-stack hardware and software solution showcased the robust performance and mature ecosystem readiness of the JH-B100. The session yielded significant results, substantially boosting customer confidence in the commercial viability of domestic RISC-V BMC chips. The JH-B100 has already attracted evaluation interest from several leading clients.



Through this collaborative technology demonstration with Intel, StarFive highlighted the significant potential of the JH-B100 in application scenarios such as servers, edge computing, and smart energy. These achievements lay a solid foundation for breaking through the barriers to large-scale commercial adoption of RISC-V in high-performance scenarios and are poised to help the product reach the milestone of millions of units in annual sales.
